The Desire of Fitness

In the world of fitness there are three connections always made between the mind, body, and spirit. It is an emotional activity that derives from desire; The desire to look good, be healthier, perform an elite sport.

The desire is what gets you started, but what is going to keep you going when it gets hard? Like life: working out, physical training, and plain body movements for a sedentary person is freaking hard, but very necessary.

Have you heard of the saying, "if it was easy, then everybody would do it" ? If so, then you may understand the truth in that what's easy for some, is not easy for all, and that's ok. I've had many clients give up in the middle of a session because it got a little too hard that day. However, imagine giving up on your life like that. Your physical body---your fitness, IS your life, that requires three major components: endurance, flexibility, and strength.

The endurance to push through pain and last through adversity, whether running a 5k or going through a divorce. Flexibility is required for bending, not breaking. It provides for adjustments and range of motion for Olympic lifts or a job you hate with a boss you don't agree with. Lastly, Strength, we could all use strength. Doing a bodyweight pull up or raising children with or without support, requires as much strength as it does technique, mentally, physically and spiritually.

In this world of fitness and living remember to find your desire, and exercise your body, mind and spirit through endurance, flexibility and strength.
